Overview

The problem
and my role.

The challenge

The merchant web platform was outdated and hard to use. Stakeholders needed a modern, intuitive redesign to streamline key workflows for tracking merchant sign-ups, improve daily operations, and reduce friction.

My contribution

I led the complete redesign, from stakeholder research to final UI, aiming to enhance the merchant experience, simplify workflows, and create a cleaner, more user-friendly platform for managing merchant sign-ups and tracking transactions.

Research & Empathy

The original project was delivered through stakeholder discussions, requirement analysis, design exploration, and engineering collaboration.

Problem Framing

Through stakeholder interviews and platform audits, I discovered that merchants weren't struggling with a single feature — they were fighting fragmented workflows. Order management, payment tracking, and performance monitoring lived in disconnected views, forcing constant context-switching and increasing error rates.

Prototyping & System

I translated the defined problems into user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes focused on the merchant platform's core workflows: order management, payment tracking, settlement monitoring, and merchant onboarding. To ensure long-term consistency and scalability, I built a dedicated design system with reusable components covering tables, filters, status indicators, navigation patterns, and data cards.

Testing & Handoff

The prototype was reviewed to identify usability issues, unclear information, and unnecessary friction across the main user journey. Based on the feedback, I refined the hierarchy, wording, interaction states, and transaction feedback to make the experience easier to understand. For developer handoff, I prepared detailed designs covering component behavior, different UI states, spacing, interaction rules, and edge cases.

What I learned.

Understanding the Product

Working on QRIS Interactive strengthened my understanding that financial products need more than a clean interface; they need to create a strong sense of clarity and trust at every step.

User needs, Business requirements, and Technical Constraints.

This project also helped me improve how I balance user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints. Instead of focusing only on individual screens, I learned to think more systematically about reusable patterns and scalable experiences that can support the product as it grows.
